I Am Who I Am

Identity.2

Who is God? That is an age old question. And it’s also one that He Himself answers in Exodus 3:14.

“God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM”; and He said, “Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you.”

In this chapter, Moses and God are having a discussion about freeing the Israelites from slavery. Moses, like many of us has been called by God to do something extraordinary but he doesn’t believe that he can do it. He didn’t realize that it doesn’t matter what he could do. It only mattered what God could do. He didn’t understand that if God was on his side, victory was his.

Sounds like me in so many areas of my life. God calls me to something and all I do is doubt instead of remembering that THE I AM has called me. If He is the One that has called me, He is the One who will equip me.

The Great I AM knows my name.

The Great I AM knows my need.

The Great I AM knows His purposes for me.

God is everything we need and everything we don’t know we need.

He is peace for a weary soul.

He is comfort for a broken heart.

He is a Father for the orphan.

He is a protector for the defenseless.

He is a provider for the needy.

He is love for the unloved.

He is hope for the hopeless.

He is salvation for the lost.

He is a refuge for the outcast.

That’s the I AM WHO I AM!

What do you need the I AM to be for you today?
